I have to apologise this week as I haven't had a chance to create something for you all to try as my DS Will has just had his tonsils out and has been home fromschool for nearlly two weeks. AT MY SCRAP TABLE.....

Hi everyone, just me again. Thanks to eveyone who has signed up for our 6 week challenge. It kicked off this week and I hope you are enjoying the challenge. This weeks challenge is to use at least three photos on a single layout. Here is my sample

This is of my son Will's first season at Auskick. Love the looks on his face.

So just a reminder that you don't ned to upload each weekif you don't want to but it would be great to see all of your creations. Remember to label them for the challenge and what week it is for so I know. This week Paula is generously offering a prize for this weeks entries, so it is worth your while to upload this week. There must be at least three entries for a prize to be allocated

Well my turn to offer some inspiration. This week I thought I would share a Layout with you and give you some step by step instructions in case you would like to create one just like it yourself

Ok so here is the layout..... SMALL WONDERS.....

Now Im not big on measuring so all measurements are just an estimate....

1. Take a piece of patterned paper ( I have used dictionary style paper) and cut into a piece approx 23.5cm x 28cm and distress the edges with an edge distresser (or scissors). To adhere to background sew around edges on a machine.

2. Also sew another border around this piece in straight stitch onto your background. Then go over some areas again in zigzag stitch.

3. Stamp onto some acetate a pattern of your choice. I have used paint to do this and a prima grid stamp.Adhere this to your page as shown. To adhere just use a little doublesided tape on the side where your photo will sit as then you wont see it.

4.Take another patterned paper and cut a strip (mine is the stripey paper)approx 9cm x27.5cm and scallop the bottom. Draw on the topside of your paper and cut just above the line.Adhere as shown .

5. Take another two patterned papers. Cut one strip approx 4cm wide and use a decorative punch on one edge (mine is a Martha Stewart punch) and adhere as shown. Cut a second strip from your other paper approx 3cm wide and randomly sew straight stitch all over it on your machine. Adhere as shown.i have also adhered a small yellow paper frill just above these papers. You could use a small strip of paper or ribbon.Doodle around all edges of your papers.

6. I have used a 6x8inch photo for this. So take your photo and sew around the edge on your machine.Adhere as shown.

7. Take a piece of matching cardstock or paper and cut a ring like mine. I have used two different sized dinner plates to create mine.

8. Add a strip of twisted fabric or ribbon over the bottom of your photo as shown and also tie strips onto your cardstock ring. You can now adhere your ring over your photo.

9. Take a journalling block and record your details. I have used 3d tape to adhere mine. Also add in some flowers (my flower was made by Leanne Pearce) and any other embellies you would like into a cluster in the corner of your LO. Add some buttons and a flourish or swirl of your choice . I have used a prime pearl flourish

10. Add a title around the other side of your ring as shown. You are now done!!!

I would love to see what you create from these instructions so post your finished LOs in the gallery here.

Anyway , I will be back next Monday to let you know what Week 2 challenge willbe. Til then HAPPY SCRAPPIN"!!! Ebony

Tuesday - Fonts and journaling

Hi all.................

WEEK 1 of 6 week Journaling guide
Over the next 6 weeks I will be taking all the hard work of your journaling dilemmas and inspiring you to add more journaling to your amazing scrapbook pages.

How to start.........................

Grab a sheets of paper and a pen look at your photo and consider

  • Who is in the photo
  • What is happening in the photo
  • When did it happen
  • Where did it happen
  • Why did it happen
At this stage you are just jotting notes down in point form, if anything else springs to you mind about your photos just jot it down don't worry about grammar or spelling at this stage just jot and scribble all that comes to you.

Read over your notes, jump on the computer and start to form sentences with your notes and you will be amazed how much easier breaking it down helps you to constructs a great piece of journaling for you scrapbook pages.

Have a go and please let me know how you do or if you have any questions.....
